Cape Lookout "At the Beach"

These are two maps of the area. Looking at the map above, we took the boat southeast along Shackleford Banks, out onto Core Banks Island where Cape Lookout Lighthouse is located. You can see the lighthouse at the tip of the island at the bottom of this map. The map below is an area locations map given by NASA.

We had the most incredible experience at the beach this year in North Carolina. Bill took us for a boat ride out into the Atlantic Ocean over to an island called Core Banks Island which is the southern most point of Cape Hatteras National Sea Shore. Here, we where able to see the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. The weather was a bit chilly, but it did not rain!! We also walked the beaches and found some incredible shells. Kolin found the largest conch shell (all in one beautiful piece) I've ever seen along the beach.


The kids loved exploring and Kolin and I enjoyed taking pictures, just trying to get one great shot. This is a beautiful island and beach and we can't wait to visit during the summer months so we can swim, build sand castles and lay out on the beach. If you ask Morghan, she just wants to have a picnic on the beach.

They have great boardwalks that take you around the park and to the beach.


Of course they love "monkeying" around!

It is very hard to get them together in a picture and both looking or even smiling at the camera.
